Interactive media wall for the bertelsmann foundation
At the foundation’s Berlin location, the Bertelsmann Stiftung presents itself and its work via an immersive showroom. The showroom’s highlight is a clever exploration mode that lets visitors explore the foundation’s various topics and contents using gesture controls.
With its generous 270° display wall, the showroom offers several user modes that can be controlled and configured by staff using a custom tablet app. Several modes – film, slideshow, or presentation modes – are available to stage available content as well as live presentations in many different ways. Staff can also use the app to activate generative word clouds and animations for ambient background productions.
The immersive installation relies on a 11-part server/client system featuring a total of 84 displays and a 20-channel surround sound system that is supplied with content through the m box – m ctrl media server system. Fresh content is retrieved from the Bertelsmann Content Management System on a daily basis. Working under the aegis of TRIAD, m box was responsible for the project’s detailed concept and design as well as the development and software implementation.
