For the adidas Originals Store in Berlin Mitte m box realized an Interactive Mirror Installation. At the heart a 3D-workstation equipped with a HiRes HD video camera and a kinect system, which allows the user in real-time to dive into the multifaceted graphic world of the new Run DMC video.
In order to achieve this functionality, we combined various state-of-the-art programming and computer graphics techniques. One of the special features is that the user is being cut out from the background in real-time. With this technique a broad range of combinations between different looks and actions that can be applied to the person and the background is possible, placing the player in front of a completely cumpoter generated background being one of the options.
This effect is realized by using the information of the depth mask from the kinect system, which is being calculated in real-time.
Applied techniques:Skeleton Tracking, Depth Mask, Frame Difference Analysis, Hand Tracking, GPU-Particle, GPU Shader Effects, Slit Scan, GPU-Fluid Solver, Gesture Control
Technical Solution: Software: vvvv, Hardware: 3D-Realtime: PC-Workstation + 2 x Microsoft Kinect + 1 x Sony Full HD-SDI Kamera (1080/30p) / 80″ Panasonic Display
