Pepperl+Fuchs interactive Racetrack

Programming of a gesture-controlled, modified Scalextric track using several different Pepperl+Fuchs sensors.

For industrial sensor manufacturer Pepperl+Fuchs, m box designed an especially eye-catching exhibit for the 2016 Hanover Trade Fair: a giant Scalextric track with gesture-controlled racing cars, facilitated by laser distance sensors. To highlight the sensor specialist’s professional acumen, the project also incorporated light gates for measuring lap times and to scan personalised invitations.

m box programmed the central logic as well as the sensor interfaces, the control of voltage output (vehicle speed), the user data base and interface plus the visual evaluation of lap times and rankings.
