On the occasion of its 150th anniversary, the SPD (Social Democratic Party of Germany) invited 1600 select guests into the Gewandhaus in Leipzig, Germany. The festivities were attended by prominent politicians such as France’s president Francois Hollande, Germany’s president Joachim Gauck, and Germany’s chancellor Angela Merkel, as well as actors Iris Berben and David Kross, to name a few. The 2 hours long event was musically accompanied by the Symphonic Orchestra of Leipzig and show acts Flying Steps with their “Flying Bach” performance and New Yorker a-cappella band “Naturally 7”.
Berlin based agency Aimaq von Lobenstein commissioned m box to create all visuals and the show programming for the projection on the stage wide screen.
The visuals were realized as a mix of linear and generative elements. Whereas the key visuals were animated as linear filmic elements, V4 was used to program audio-reactive modules for real-time animation during the show acts Flying Steps and Naturally 7.
